Accommodation

Residential accommodation at BiCon 2015 will be in Lenton and Wortley Hall, which is exclusive to BiCon attendees and is also where the evening bar and entertainment will be. There are three kinds of room at the Hall – standard, paired bathroom and en-suite. There are limited numbers of each so we will be reserving the majority of en-suite rooms for people with access needs. The rest of the room bookings will be first come first served, so if you have a preference for a particular kind of room it's important to book early!

All rooms are single study bedrooms and come with a mini fridge and kettle in the room as well as a welcome pack of coffee and tea supplies, towel, soap and bathmat.

Catering

As BiCon is catered this year your residential booking includes lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and full English breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, Breakfast is also included on Friday for people staying on Thursday Night.

Breakfast and Dinner will be served at Lenton and Wortley Hall and Lunch at the BiCon daytime space. We will be getting a majority of vegetarian food and can cater to most other dietary requirements if you let us know in advance.

In addition all rooms come with a mini fridge, kettle and tea and coffee supplies. There are micro-kitchens in each block, but these only contain a single microwave, sink and shared fridge, and can be shared between more than twenty people. There are no cutlery or plates provided. They are fine for a late night microwaveable snack but not much more.

Room Types

Standard rooms are a single bedroom with a sink in with shower and bathrooms being shared one to every 4-5 rooms. There are baths as well as showers in the block. The micro-kitchen is on the 1st floor of the block. There are no lifts in standard blocks, although you can request a ground floor room.

Paired bathroom rooms have a larger bed than the standard or en-suite rooms, though they are still single occupancy. There is one bathroom between two rooms which contains a shower, loo and sink. The shower is bigger than that in the standard rooms. The micro-kitchen is on the 1st floor of the block. There are no lifts in paired bathroom blocks, although you can request a ground floor room. These rooms would particularly suit people booking in pairs or people with children.

Ensuite rooms are a single bedroom with a an ensuite loo, sink and wetroom shower. The micro-kitchen is on the 1st floor of the block. There is a lift in the ensuite block, the shower has no step into it and it is the only block we can get fire alerters for the deaf, so we are reserving most of these rooms for people with access needs. Please let us know if you have an access need for any of these things or if there's any other reason you need an ensuite room.

All rooms are self-contained rooms on corridors rather than bedrooms within a flat as has been common at previous BiCons, but you can still request to be near people you know.
